GERMAINE KRUIP
Germaine Kruip has mastered the game of heightening our percepetion of reality. With extremely subtle interventions she adds an extra dimension to daily reality and makes the hidden stratifications visible. One characteristic of Kruip's work is the important role played by the public. She is convinced that the final work of art is formed in the mind of the spectator. "What you think, is what you see." Last summer she had the public walk along a route from a gallery across the Frederiksplein square in Amsterdam, whereby it was uncertain when there was any stage management an when not. At the end of the walk the entire city seemed to have been staged.
